- What we collect: If you subscribe, we store your email address, the page language and the date you confirmed. Nothing more, and we do not add you to the list until you tap the confirm link in the email we send you.
- Why: To send one short email about every two weeks about new tools, articles and courses on this site only.
- Where it is stored: In our account with the email service Brevo, which sends the messages for us. We do not sell your email or share it for marketing.
- Unsubscribe and deletion: Every email we send has an “Unsubscribe” link that works with one tap, and your mail app’s own unsubscribe button works too. To have your email deleted completely, or your account and saved lists, message me on X at @EngMSamara.
- Accounts (optional): Everything on the site works without one. If you sign in with Google, Apple or an emailed link, we store your email address to recognise your account and send you one welcome email the first time. Signing in does not put you on the email list. Google or Apple may also send your name and picture; we use neither.
- What is synced: The ids of the courses and resources you saved or completed, and when you last changed them, in a Supabase database (servers in Mumbai, India), so your list follows you between devices. Database security rules stop any other account from seeing them. As the site owner I can reach the database from its dashboard, and I use it only to run the service.
- Path finder: It runs in your browser. Your answers and result stay on your device and are not synced, even when you are signed in. Nothing reaches us unless you share the result link yourself.
- Photos: The photos on the learning pages load from Unsplash’s servers, so Unsplash sees your IP address and browser type, as any image host does.
- Developer tools: The JSON formatter, regex tester, password generator and the other tools run in your browser. What you type is not sent to any server.
- Browser storage: Your browser keeps only your light/dark choice, the courses and resources you saved or completed, your path-finder result, and whether you paused the scrolling logos.
